Warranty Claims and Services

We provides full warranty services on all items sold by Valley Scales.

All warranties are the manufacturer's as specified on product specification sheets, manufacturer's product documentation and/or product pages on the site. These can range from 1 to 5 years with limitations as specified by the manufacturer.

Valley Scales processes all warranty claims on your behalf. With over 35 years experience in the maintenance and repair of weighing instruments, our affiliated service center will coordinate with the manufacturer to replace or to repair the concerned instrument.

Proof of purchase or receipt is generally required but we can assist in validating your warranty if you cannot locate it.

For warranties claims, please send a WMA (Warranty Claim Authorization) request by email to services@valleyscales.ca. A WMA number and shipping coordinates will be sent to you within the next few business days.

Upon receipt of your item, Valley Scales will coordinate with the manufacturer and confirm to you their assessment by email. All warranty processing is free of charge. Parts and labour are also free of charge on all manufacturer approved claims.

However, you will be responsible for paying your shipping costs on warranty services. If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance.

Returns and Refunds

While it is our hope that all scales shipped meet our customers needs and expectations, things happen. To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging with all original documentation and accessories.

Our policy lasts 30 days. If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

Returned damaged or wrong products shipped will, pending on availability, be replaced or credited in full with all shipping costs paid by Valley Scales. All damages require to be reported, in writing, within 5 days of receipt of your scale. Please see our "Shipping" page for further info on damage claims.

To offset processing and shipping costs incurred by Valley Scales, a 15% re-stocking fee will be applicable on accommodation returns/customer order errors  and will be deducted from your refund or store credit.

Legal for trade certifications or other services purchased are, as a rule, not refundable on accommodation returns, the services having been rendered.

You will be responsible for paying shipping costs on your return. If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance.

A return authorization number ( RMA) with return shipping instructions will normally be sent to you with 3 business days.

Do not return product without a RMA number. Any shipment received at our facilities without a RMA number will be refused by Valley Scales, at the sender's risk and peril.

Refunds (if applicable)

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your item and will notify you on the pending approval of your refund or store credit.

Once approved, your refund will be processed and a credit will automatically be applied through the original method of payment.

There are certain situations where only partial refunds are granted. Instruments with obvious signs of use or items not in their original condition, damaged or missing parts or returns for reasons not due to our error are subject to restocking fees that may range from15% to 50%.

Items on Sale

Only regular priced items may be refunded, unfortunately sale items cannot be refunded but, at Valleys Scales' discretion  may be credited towards an exchange item/store credit.
